Check Out The Roxbury In LA

Roxbury, Los Angeles

LA is filled with endless options for nightlife. I usually go out to Downtown Los Angeles with friends, since the chilled atmosphere and hipster crowd make for a good evening. Last Thursday, however, my friend suggested we check out someplace new. So I went to the ARC Records site and clicked on their calendar of local events. I noticed that a lot of the events on the calendar listed the famed Roxbury as a hotspot, so we decided to go there for the night. When we arrived at the venue located in Hollywood, we were greeted by the typical crowd reflecting the glamorous attitude of LA Today

Everyone was decked out in glitzy dresses and suits, so my friends and I were glad we had dressed for the occasion. Once inside, the venue was rather small. A small stage faced the equally small dance floor. The decor was the usual Hollywood glitz and lights, and my friends and I were sardined and shuffled around the overcrowded club. Despite the uncomfortable lack of space, there were a few highlights that night. Cee Lo Green made an appearance, which sent everyone in a buzz. Nipsey Hussle was also there, he and his buddies were at a table throwing money into the air. It was amusing, the paper green fluttering everyone as they danced on their seats.

Despite the crowded atmosphere of the Roxbury, I can see why it would be an awesome venue for a concert. The small space would allow you to get up close and personal with your favorite band or solo artist, something that’s very rare nowadays. Also, it seems to be a place that a lot of musicians frequent, which is always a plus. I’m definitely coming back when one of my friends asks me What to do in LA. A night at the Roxbury? Definitely.
