A 19 year-old promising young man, died early Thursday morning in a traffic accident on a Bay Area freeway. He was driving three passenger on highway 13 around 4:30am, when his car hit a tree that had fallen on the freeway. Everyone got out of the 1996 Toyota Camry and went to the side of the road, but he stayed on the freeway.

A man driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck also hit the tree. The truck driver lost control of the car and collided with the Camry and the young man. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they pronounced the young man dead.

The young man had obtained a scholarship and was attending his first year at the University of California at Berkeley. He was pursuing a biology degree, according to his brother. His family is devastated by losing him at such a young age.
